About SheyDoc

SheyDoc began with grief.

In a short span, we lost four colleagues to suicide. Those losses opened our eyes to a heartbreaking truth: every year, more than 700,000 people around the world and far too many across Africa die by suicide because quality mental healthcare remains out of reach.

In Africa, the challenges run deeper than numbers. Mental health struggles are often met with silence, shame, or explanations rooted in spirituality rather than science. Trained professionals are painfully few (some countries have fewer than one psychiatrist per million people) and existing services are mostly confined to cities, leaving millions in rural areas with nowhere to turn.

We could not look away.

In 2025, we founded SheyDoc to change that reality.

Today, we connect people anywhere in Africa, city or village, with licensed counsellors, clinical psychologists, and psychiatrists who are ready to listen and help. Care through SheyDoc is immediate, confidential, culturally sensitive, and designed to be truly affordable.

No one should have to suffer alone. No one should face judgment for seeking help. No one should be priced out of healing.

We are more than a platform. We are a committed team driven by personal loss and a shared vision: universal access to mental healthcare for every person in Africa, one supported conversation at a time.
